"Lady Flower"
INSPIRATION
Lady Flower is an original one-of-a-kind oil painting. Having drawn florals for years I started getting interested in making up my own flowers using the elements of real flowers I've learned along the way.
DESCRIPTION/MATERIALS USED
I love the blend-ability of oils but in this artwork I used the nontraditional florescent and silver oil bar to add both highlight and shadowing of this originally designed, quirky, one of a kind oil painting. I like the contrast of very traditional oils used here, enhanced by more nontraditional use of florescent oil bars. And the traditional floral subject matter with all the elements of a real flower, except having created it as a made up flower.
I also planned wrinkle-texturing by crumbling the canvas and folding it in the priming stage and that is basically how I was able to create this 24" x 48" heavily textured and lovingly executed canvas. 60.96cm x 121.92cm This has a narrow frame which makes it easy to frame as desired or it can be hung directly on the wall since sides are covered, stapled on back.
